Mmmm, mini delights

February 20, 2013

ImageWhether you’re planning a kid’s birthday, baby shower or wedding, these cute mini cupcakes by the Hummingbird bakery are just perfect and taste so yummy. Because they’re so small, you don’t get that big sugar rush that you get when eating a big one and they pop into your mouth in one! They come in vanilla, chocolate, carrot and red velvet flavours. Mmmm … (the diet starts tomorrow).

A special place!

September 24, 2012

Driving through Hampton the other day on the way to fill up my car, I thought how nice it would be to get married at Hampton Court Palace. It’s such a special place and area. I especially like the Little Banqueting House which has its’ own idyllic location, within its own private walled gardens on the banks of the Thames … it’s the most intimate of all the areas within the palace grounds. Capacities: max of 50 for a sit-down meal and 50 for a civil ceremony.

Fluttery memories!

September 19, 2012

I came across this today and thought it would make a nice memento of your wedding day. Get some butterfly craft punches either at AmazonHobbycraft or Martha Stewart and start punching! You’ll need some pictures of yourselves, some coloured papers and glue. You can get hold of boxed frames at IkeaJohn Lewis and even at Notonthehighstreet. As a finishing touch, make your friends and family write little notes on some of the butterflies to insert into your collage. Happy crafting and happy memories!

Beautiful Mary!

September 18, 2012

Well I’ve been away or more precisely in the last two years, I’ve had two beautiful babies: Scott now two and Sienna 4 months. But now, it’s about time I started blogging about all things weddings again. I was watching Sunday’s episode of Downton Abbey last night and I was amazed at how beautiful Mary Crawley looked in her wedding outfit. Her hair piece looked like one the House of Fabergé made in 1900 for a bride of the Grosvenor family. It was designed of myrtle leaves and berries, sacred to Aphrodite the goddess of love! She looked so innocent and ethereal. Way to go Mary! For a similar tiara check out: Glitzy Secrets, Blossom or Ivory & Co.

Hey lovely people, I’ve been out of action for a couple of days, so busy on shoots I’m doing for the magazine. My creative buddy Kate is stuck out in SA because of the volcano ash thing and am left doing so many page of editorial on my own. Boohoo, nevermind, I think it’s under control.

I can’t believe how time flies and I’m now 26 weeks pregers and getting bigger by the day, thank goodness this is my last big photo shoot before going off on maternity leave, ahhhhh, entering the new dimension of motherhood, scary. I will certainly miss my sugar coated career here at Natmags, but I’ll be back in a year’s time. However, I will be updating my blog regularly …. so keep checking in and I promise to keep inspiring you about all pretty things wedding related. (Did I tell you am having a little boy and Matthew and I can’t agree on any names, albeit one, but will keep it a secret. I like Noah, Josh, Elliot, Max, Kai, Leo and Theo, but Matthew likes trad boring names … so it’ll be a tough one. Will keep you updated on the name front.)

Anyway, today, before I rush off to VVRouleaux to pick up some ribbon, I must show you this gorgeous bouquet of apricot calla lillies, it’s so pretty. And the great news also, is that I’ve been given a press pass to go to the Chelsea Flower show, so tricky to get tickets, so I’ll be inspiring you with some flower images that I take there in a couple of weeks.

Better go, ribbon needs to be selected,
